AC-AVDM-V3

18Gbps HDMI 8-Channel Audio Downmixer

Description

This 4K UHD HDMI with Dolby Atmos™ and DTS-HD® Stereo Audio Downmixer supports the transmission of high bandwidth (18Gbps) video through HDMI, and allows the associated audio signal to be simultaneously extracted and split to both digital and analog audio outputs, providing high quality audio and video performance.

This unit can downmix standard Dolby Audio & DTS-HD formats up to 7.1 and output the audio as stereo (LPCM 2.0) over HDMI, S/PDIF (optical and coaxial), as well as analog RCA connections. It is also able to manage Dolby Atmos signals by extracting 7.1 channels from Atmos and downmixing that audio. It can also support the pass-through of HD and standard bitstream formats as well as LPCM 7.1 with audio sampling rates up to 192 kHz if needed.

If the connected display supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) and has it enabled, then this unit can extract the ARC audio and output it via all available audio outputs. Both the input and output HDMI ports support 4K UHD resolutions up to 4K@60Hz (YUV 4:4:4, 8-bit).

Audio Downmixing - There is no need to set your source to 2-channel, no matter what kind of audio this device receives. Converting audio to 2-channel allows you to deliver Dolby Atmos sound to a home theater and 2-channel audio to a bedroom simultaneously.

4K Down Scaling - This technology is managed on HDMI output 1. Scaling will allow integrators to downscale 4K sources going to displays that may not support 4K. Other devices force a signal to work by “dumbing down” the entire system even if there is only one old 1080P display in the system.

Ideal for overcoming AVR problems - In today’s fast-moving, high-bandwidth video market, there is often a need to send high bit rate, bitstream audio into AVR’s to take advantage of audio advances like Dolby Atmos or DTS-X. While especially well suited for audio, AVRs lack the robust ability to manage high-bandwidth HDR video. The AC-AVDM-AUHD allows integrators to bypass AVRs and send uncompressed video signals to displays or projectors. Integrators can then down-scale the other AV stream to a lower bandwidth video while maintaining the original untouched audio codecs, making the AC-AVDM-AUHD ideal for sending this second HDMI signal into an AVR and then on to a surround sound system.

Audio Return Channel - ARC allows you to deliver local audio from internal smart tv apps like Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+ back to your headend. You can then distribute this audio through amplifiers for enhanced audio experiences.

Ultimate HDR Support - This matrix supports all flavors of HDR in all formats. Including HDR, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, BBC, and NHK. All of them are permitted in up to 4K 60Hz and up to 12 Bit Deep Color. All color space compressions are compatible.

EDID Management - You can manage the input side of the switch by selecting a preloaded 4K EDID. It also can INSTANTLY read an EDID from any connected display and apply it to the desired input, all with the flip of a switch. Goodbye, EDID problems...
